We met in San Francisco in 2011 and fell in love soon thereafter. The relationship that began the following spring turned from an exciting summer into a melancholy time apart — in the fall, Sara embarked on an eight-month Fulbright fellowship in Paris. In April 2013, a handful of visits and a dozen love letters later, I proposed to Sara on a bridge over the Seine. She was surprised, but overjoyed. The following morning, we headed for a week-long exploration of Morocco and the South of France.
We’re getting married in San Francisco on August 31st, 2014, and look forward to spending the happy day with our family and friends from both coasts, Canada, and Europe. The wedding will take place in the Sigmund Stern Recreation Grove, a gem among San Francisco’s parks and the site of the annual summer concert series which the two of us attended frequently during our first summer as a couple. A Victorian clubhouse in a stand of California redwoods, and an adjoining meadow flanked by towering Eucalyptus trees, promise an evening of late-summer romance and celebration.
